Skills
Mary Trudeau is an experienced manager and professional engineer with over 30 years of experience in the development and implementation of water policy, programs, and projects. She combines strong analytical skills and management abilities with in-depth technical knowledge of urban infrastructure and practical experience in both the public and private sectors. Dr. Trudeau has successfully managed large, multi-disciplinary teams, public advisory committees, and staff groups of up to 70 people, ensuring high-quality deliverables on time and within budget.
Dr. Trudeau’s formal education reflects a wide range of interests. After earning a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering, she managed potable water infrastructure for a large Canadian municipality while simultaneously completing a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature.
She later earned a Master of Science in Environment and Management, with a thesis focused on an environmental effects monitoring program she initiated for municipal infrastructure effluents. Her PhD in Geography research examined event-scale hydrology within urbanizing watersheds and its relationship with aquatic biodiversity, specifically fish richness.
As a consultant, she has advised federal departments, provincial agencies, and non-profit sector clients on water and climate adaptation. She is also the author of the children’s book A Tale of Two Planets.
